There are some people in this world, whose natural inclination is towards happiness. I am not one of them.
That being said, although I am not naturally inclined towards happiness, I promise you, I laugh more than most people do each day. I laugh when I spill my cup of coffee (which occurs on a daily basis), I laugh when I break the bucket (don’t ask me how), I laugh when midway through an argument, I come to the realization that I am infact wrong, I laugh over things that might seem minute or ludicrous to others.
I know at the back of my mind that sitting and waiting around for happiness or for things to make me happy, just doesn’t work for me. So what do I do, I try to grab hold of those little joyous moments which sneak a peak in our daily lives. I accept the little rays of happiness, which come my way each day and I build up on them. I take little happy moments and build my daily castles on them. And I’ve learnt, just as “one event” has the power of turning a smile upside down, “a single occurrence” also has the power to put a smile on our faces if we let it.
And the best part, happy moments cost almost nothing. One of my favorite things to do in the morning is sit in silence with a cup of black coffee which tastes like heaven in a mug- that, gives me joy. Despite the day’s weariness, that five minutes of bliss is something I look back on and feel joy. Also, the smile on my Niece’s face. It doesn’t matter how rough the day gets, just her presence gives me light. I live for those moments
So, although I wouldn’t say happiness is overrated, but I will say this- happy moments are underrated.

Perhaps happiness is not a goal, but more a perspective on how to live. Perhaps it will direct us to real, rather than superficial, values. Perhaps if we can get on the right road to happiness, we will be smiling more …. and isn’t that what we would like to see around us? 🙂

Thats what I had to come to learn, happiness is not a goal. I was one of those people who used to put “be happy” on my to-do list, like it was a task 😂. I always love your comments. Thank you

OH my Gosh!! YOU have made me so happy today! How did it take me this long to find your blog???? I have been missing hearing from you and thinking of how busy you must be, I go to your old blog on WordPress once more and this time I realize that somehow I missed seeing your post explaining about you taking a break and directing us all to this blog. I come here and see all your posts that I need to get caught up on!
I see that Colin even got the memo and has been here long before me!
Oh well, I will catch up and I will be back. Can’t hide anymore my dear. 🙂 So good to hear that you are doing well!

Well, on happiness…I won’t even go down that road. I just take one day at a time. Some days are blue, some not😊 But I’m not depressed, so I consider myself lucky.😊 Good to see you on my blog again. Thanks for stopping by.
